These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Essential Comps, including competition entries, prizes, Essential Points and related services.

Introduction
These Terms & Conditions apply whenever you create an Essential Comps account, purchase competition entries, submit a free postal entry, claim a prize or use any feature available on our website. They form the agreement between you and Essential Comps Ltd and explain how our competitions, rewards and services operate.

Definitions
Unless the context requires otherwise, the following terms have the meanings set out below:
- Account means a registered Essential Comps customer account.
- Competition means any competition, giveaway, promotion, Instant Win, Build to Win or Auto Draw operated by Essential Comps.
- Entry means one valid participation in a competition, whether purchased or submitted via the free postal entry route.
- Ticket Number means the unique number allocated to each valid competition entry.
- Winner means the person whose valid ticket number is selected in accordance with these Terms & Conditions and who successfully completes any required verification.
- Essential Points means the loyalty reward points issued by Essential Comps that may be redeemed towards eligible purchases in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
- Instant Win means a prize allocated to a predetermined ticket number before the competition opens.
- Build to Win Competition means a competition where the final prize value depends on the build stage achieved before the competition closes.
- Working Day means Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in England and Wales.
- Website means www.essentialcomps.co.uk.

Eligibility
To enter competitions on Essential Comps, you must meet the eligibility requirements below. We may refuse entries or withhold prizes where these requirements are not met.
- You must be 18 years of age or over.
- You must be a resident of the United Kingdom.
- You must create an Essential Comps account using accurate and up-to-date information.
- You must complete our identity verification process before any cash or physical prize is released. Where we already hold a valid verification from a previous win, or where the prize does not require verification (such as Essential Points), we may not ask you to complete the process again.
- Employees, directors, contractors and anyone directly involved in the operation or administration of Essential Comps, together with members of their immediate household, may not enter competitions.
- We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or cancel entries that breach these Terms & Conditions or where we reasonably believe an entry is fraudulent, misleading or intended to gain an unfair advantage.
- If you no longer meet these eligibility requirements before a prize is awarded, we may cancel your entry and select another winner where appropriate.
Accounts
To enter competitions, purchase tickets, claim prizes and use certain features of our website, you must create an Essential Comps account.
- You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided on your account is accurate, complete and kept up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity carried out using your account.
- Only one account is permitted per person. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently close duplicate accounts.
- You must not create an account using false, misleading or another person’s details.
- The information held on your Essential Comps account will be used to verify your identity and process prize claims. If your account details do not match the identification or information you provide during verification, we may delay or refuse to award any prize until we are satisfied that you are the legitimate account holder.
- We reserve the right to suspend, restrict or permanently close any account where we reasonably believe these Terms & Conditions have been breached, fraudulent activity has occurred, payment has been disputed, or the security or integrity of our competitions may otherwise be affected.
- You may request to close your account at any time. Once your account has been closed, it cannot normally be reopened.
- Closing your account does not automatically cancel valid competition entries purchased before your closure request was received. Any eligible entries will remain in the relevant competition and these Terms & Conditions will continue to apply to those entries until the competition has concluded.
- Any unused Essential Points, referral rewards, promotional credits or other non-cash account benefits remaining on your account when it is closed will be permanently forfeited and cannot be transferred, reinstated or exchanged for cash.
- We may retain certain account, transaction, competition and verification records after an account has been closed in order to comply with legal, regulatory, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and audit obligations.
Competition Entries
Competition entries can be purchased through the Essential Comps website or submitted using the free postal entry route in accordance with these Terms & Conditions and our Free Postal Entry rules.
- Each valid competition entry is allocated one unique ticket number. If you purchase multiple entries, you will receive one unique ticket number for each entry purchased.
- Your allocated ticket number(s) will be displayed within your Essential Comps account and included in your order confirmation email.
- Paid entries are only valid once payment has been successfully authorised and received by Essential Comps.
Essential Comps reserves the right to refuse or cancel any transaction where we reasonably believe payment has been made fraudulently or in breach of these Terms & Conditions.
Free postal entries are only valid once they have been received, verified as meeting our Free Postal Entry requirements and manually processed by Essential Comps.
- If payment is unsuccessful or declined, no competition entry will be created and no ticket numbers will be allocated.
- Once a competition entry has been successfully purchased or accepted, it cannot be cancelled, transferred to another person, exchanged for another competition or amended.
- All valid entries, including those purchased using Essential Points, are treated equally and have the same chance of winning.
- Every competition operated by Essential Comps is guaranteed to be drawn on the advertised draw date, regardless of the number of entries sold, unless circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent the draw from taking place.
- Once a competition has closed, no further entries will be accepted.
Free Postal Entry
Essential Comps offers a free postal entry route for every competition in accordance with the requirements of the Gambling Act 2005.
Full instructions, the current postal address and any competition-specific requirements are published on our Free Postal Entry page and alongside the payment options on each competition page.
- You must have an active Essential Comps account before submitting a free postal entry.
- Each postal entry must be sent separately using its own valid postage or paid delivery service. Only one competition entry is permitted per envelope or paid delivery. Multiple entries submitted within the same envelope or package will not be accepted.
- The maximum number of free postal entries permitted for any competition is the same as the maximum number of paid entries permitted for that competition, as stated on the relevant competition page.
- Hand-delivered entries will not be accepted.
- Postal entries may be handwritten or typed, provided all required information is clear and legible.
- Each postal entry must include all of the information requested on our Free Postal Entry page. Entries that are incomplete, incorrect, illegible or submitted without an active Essential Comps account will be rejected.
- Free postal entries must be received by our postal handling provider no later than 12:00pm (midday Uk time) on the working day before the advertised draw date. Entries received after this deadline will not be entered into the competition.
- Valid postal entries are manually processed by Essential Comps. Once processed, your entry will be allocated ticket number(s) and you will receive the same order confirmation email as a paid entry.
- We do not send notifications for late, incomplete or rejected postal entries.
- Free postal entries receive exactly the same chance of winning as paid entries, including eligibility for any Instant Win prizes associated with the competition where applicable.
- The cost of preparing and posting a free postal entry is your responsibility. Essential Comps does not reimburse postage or delivery costs.
- Essential Comps accepts no responsibility for postal entries that are lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected or otherwise fail to arrive before the published deadline.
- Postal entries received for competitions that have already closed, or for competitions where the published postal entry deadline has passed, will not be transferred to another competition and will be rejected.
Live Draw Competitions
Live Draw competitions are conducted live using RandomPicker.com and are streamed on our official Facebook page. We may also broadcast Live Draws on additional platforms where available.
- Every Live Draw competition is guaranteed to be drawn, regardless of the number of entries sold.
- Live Draw competitions will close on the advertised closing date and time shown on the relevant competition page. Once a competition has closed, no further entries will be accepted.
- All valid paid and free postal entries received before the published deadlines will be included in the Live Draw.
- Every valid entry has an equal chance of winning. Purchasing additional entries increases the number of ticket numbers you hold but does not guarantee a prize.
- Live Draws are conducted using RandomPicker Live to randomly select the winning ticket number(s).
The result generated by RandomPicker Live shall be final, subject only to correction of any technical or administrative error.
- If a technical issue beyond our reasonable control prevents a Live Draw from taking place as scheduled, including issues affecting our internet connection, broadcasting platform or RandomPicker Live, all valid entries will remain locked into the competition. The draw will be postponed and conducted as soon as reasonably possible once the issue has been resolved. Where possible, we will keep customers updated through our website and official social media channels.
- Live Draw recordings are normally available to watch on our official Facebook page for as long as they remain available on the platform. Essential Comps also retains an offline copy of each Live Draw recording for our records.
Auto Draw Competitions
Auto Draw competitions are conducted automatically using Essential Comps’ own draw engine and do not require a live broadcast.
- Every Auto Draw competition is guaranteed to be drawn, regardless of the number of entries sold.
- Auto Draw competitions will close on the advertised closing date and time shown on the relevant competition page. Once a competition has closed, no further entries will be accepted.
- Following the advertised closing time, a short delay is applied before the draw takes place to allow all valid entries to be finalised and the competition to be locked. The draw will then be conducted automatically by the Essential Comps draw engine. The result generated by the Essential Comps draw engine shall be final, subject only to correction of any technical or administrative error.
- All valid paid and free postal entries received before the published deadlines will be included in the Auto Draw.
- Every valid entry has an equal chance of winning. Purchasing additional entries increases the number of ticket numbers you hold but does not guarantee a prize.
- Once the draw has been completed, the winner and competition results are automatically published on the Essential Comps website.
- Winners are automatically notified by email. Where a cash or physical prize has been won, Essential Comps will contact the winner separately to complete the prize fulfilment process.
- If a technical issue beyond our reasonable control prevents an Auto Draw from being completed, all valid entries will remain locked into the competition. We will resolve the issue where possible and complete the draw as soon as reasonably practicable. Where this is not possible, the draw will be carried out manually. Every Auto Draw competition remains guaranteed to be drawn.
Instant Wins
Some competitions include Instant Win prizes in addition to the main competition prize. Where Instant Wins are available, they will be clearly displayed on the relevant competition page.
- Before a competition goes live, Essential Comps randomly allocates each Instant Win prize to a unique ticket number.
- The Instant Win ticket numbers are published on the relevant competition page before the competition opens.
- Once payment has been successfully processed, every purchased ticket is automatically checked against the Instant Win ticket numbers.
- If your ticket matches an Instant Win ticket number, you will be notified immediately on-screen and by email. Your winning ticket will also be displayed within the competition ticket table on the relevant competition page.
- Free postal entries and entries purchased using Essential Points are eligible to win Instant Win prizes and are treated exactly the same as paid card entries.
- Winning an Instant Win prize does not affect your eligibility for the main competition prize. Your winning ticket remains entered into the main competition draw where applicable.
- Instant Win prizes are awarded only if the allocated ticket number is purchased or validly allocated through the free postal entry route before the competition closes.
- Instant Win prizes are not guaranteed to be won. If the allocated ticket number is not purchased or allocated before the competition closes, the Instant Win prize will expire and will not be redrawn, reallocated or carried forward to another competition.
- Cash and physical Instant Win prizes are subject to the same identity verification and prize fulfilment process as all other prizes awarded by Essential Comps.
Build To Win Competitions
Build to Win competitions operate in the same way as a standard Essential Comps competition, with the exception that the final prize value depends on the build stages achieved before the competition closes.
- Every valid competition entry is entered into the draw in exactly the same way as a standard competition.
- Each Build to Win competition will clearly display its build stages, unlock percentages and corresponding prize values on the relevant competition page before the competition opens.
- As ticket sales increase, additional build stages may be unlocked, increasing the value of the prize available to the eventual winner.
- Once a build stage has been unlocked, it cannot be removed or reduced.
- Build stages and prize values cannot be changed after the competition has gone live.
- Every Build to Win competition is guaranteed to be drawn, regardless of the number of entries sold.
- When the competition closes, one winner will be selected using the normal Essential Comps draw process. The winner will receive the prize value corresponding to the highest build stage unlocked at the time the competition closed.
- If the competition does not reach the final build stage before closing, the winner will receive the highest unlocked prize value achieved.
- Free postal entries and entries purchased using Essential Points are eligible to enter Build to Win competitions and are treated exactly the same as all other valid entries.
- Unless specifically stated otherwise on the relevant competition page, all other provisions of these Terms & Conditions apply to Build to Win competitions.
Winners, Prizes & Verification
Winning a competition does not automatically entitle you to receive a prize until all verification requirements have been successfully completed.
- Winners of Live Draw competitions will normally be contacted by telephone using the contact details held on their Essential Comps account. If we are unable to make contact by telephone, or where the competition is an Auto Draw, we will contact the winner by email.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that the contact details held on your Essential Comps account remain accurate and up to date. Essential Comps cannot be held responsible where we are unable to contact a winner because incorrect, incomplete or outdated account information has been provided.
- Where a cash or physical prize has been won, Essential Comps will contact the winner to arrange identity verification, confirm prize preferences (where applicable) and organise prize fulfilment.
- Winners must respond to our initial contact within 7 days. If we are unable to make contact, we will make reasonable attempts to do so, including follow-up emails where appropriate. If no response is received within 7 days, the winner will forfeit all entitlement to the prize.
- Winners required to complete identity verification must provide satisfactory verification within 14 days of our request. Failure to do so may result in the winner forfeiting all entitlement to the prize.
- Identity verification is required before any cash or physical prize is released. This will normally require a valid passport or driving licence. Where these are unavailable, Essential Comps may, at its discretion, accept alternative forms of identification or request additional documents, including proof of address where necessary.
- Where a cash alternative is offered, the winner will be given the choice between the advertised prize and the advertised cash alternative. Once confirmed by the winner, this selection cannot normally be changed unless agreed otherwise by Essential Comps.
- Cash prizes are paid by UK bank transfer only and may only be paid into a UK bank account held in the name of the verified winner.
- Physical prizes will normally be dispatched directly from one of our approved UK suppliers where possible, although some prizes may be supplied directly by Essential Comps. Estimated delivery times will normally reflect the supplier’s standard delivery times, and we will keep winners informed where possible.
- Some prizes may require a delivery signature, one-time collection code or additional verification before they can be released by the courier. Winners are responsible for providing any information reasonably required to complete delivery and for making suitable arrangements to receive their prize. Essential Comps cannot be held responsible for delays or failed deliveries where a winner fails to provide the required information, is unavailable to receive the delivery or does not comply with the courier’s delivery requirements.
- If a physical prize becomes unavailable or cannot reasonably be sourced after the winner has been confirmed, Essential Comps will normally attempt to source the advertised prize for up to 5 business days. If this is unsuccessful, we may, at our discretion, offer the advertised cash alternative (where available), the full retail value in cash, or a replacement prize of an equivalent or greater value.
- If a prize is lost, damaged or delayed whilst in transit, Essential Comps will work with the relevant courier or supplier to resolve the issue and determine the most appropriate outcome. Where appropriate, we may, at our discretion, offer a replacement, cash alternative or another suitable resolution.
- By creating an Essential Comps account and entering our competitions, you agree that, if you win, Essential Comps may publish your first name, surname and town or city on our website, social media channels and winners pages. We may also invite winners to provide a review, photograph or video; however, this is entirely voluntary and is not a condition of receiving a prize.
Essential Points, Referrals & Promotions
Essential Points are our customer rewards programme and may be earned, redeemed and used in accordance with these Terms & Conditions and any additional rules published on the relevant promotion or feature page.
- Customers earn 1 Essential Point for every £1 successfully spent on qualifying purchases made through the Essential Comps website. Essential Points are only awarded on the monetary value actually paid and are not awarded on any value paid using Essential Points or other promotional credits.
- 1 Essential Point has a redemption value of 1p when used towards qualifying purchases on the Essential Comps website.
- Essential Points cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts or sold. Essential Points have no cash value.
- Essential Points may be used to pay for competition entries in full or in part. Where Essential Points do not cover the full purchase price, the remaining balance must be paid by an accepted payment method. Card payments must meet our minimum payment processing requirements, which currently require a minimum payment of 30p where a card payment is made.
- All Essential Points, regardless of how they are earned or awarded, expire at 11:59pm on the last day of the month, one year after they were awarded. Expired points cannot be reinstated.
- Referral rewards are subject to the rules published on our Referral page. The current referral reward, any qualifying purchase requirements and any rewards available to the referred customer may be changed, withdrawn or amended by Essential Comps at any time.
- Referral abuse, including creating multiple accounts, referring yourself or attempting to manipulate the referral programme, is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to remove referral rewards, cancel affected entries, suspend or close accounts and refuse refunds where abuse is identified.
- Birthday rewards are subject to the rules published within your Essential Comps account. To claim a birthday reward, you must have entered your correct date of birth into your account at least one day before your birthday. Your date of birth is locked once submitted and cannot normally be changed. On your birthday, you will receive a reminder to activate your reward by visiting the Birthday section of your account. Birthday rewards are not applied automatically.
- The Daily Spin feature is limited to one spin per account per calendar day. Any rewards won will be automatically credited to your account in accordance with the applicable promotion.
- Essential Comps may operate additional promotions, including but not limited to Essential Points Pots, bonus points campaigns, double points promotions, referral incentives, seasonal offers, discount codes and other loyalty or promotional campaigns. The specific rules for each promotion will be published on the relevant competition page or promotional page and form part of these Terms & Conditions.
Where an Essential Points Pot promotion is operated, the applicable qualifying competitions, contribution amounts, maximum pot value, entry requirements, draw date and any other promotion-specific rules will be published on the relevant competition page or promotional page. Unless otherwise stated, only qualifying entries made during the promotional period will be eligible.
- Discount codes and promotional offers must be applied during checkout and cannot be added, amended or applied retrospectively once an order has been completed.
- Essential Comps reserves the right to introduce, amend, suspend or withdraw any loyalty programme, promotion, reward, bonus or campaign at any time. Any changes will not affect rewards or promotions that have already been validly awarded unless the promotion rules state otherwise.
Responsible Playing
Essential Comps is committed to promoting responsible play and encouraging customers to participate safely and within their means. Our full Responsible Playing Policy is available on the dedicated Responsible Playing page and forms part of these Terms & Conditions.
- Competition entries should always be purchased for entertainment purposes only and never as a way of making money or solving financial difficulties.
- By creating an Essential Comps account, you acknowledge that you are responsible for managing your own spending and participation.
- Every new Essential Comps account is provided with a default monthly spending limit of £100 per calendar month. This limit resets at the end of each calendar month.
- Customers are responsible for reviewing and managing their own spending limits. Monthly spending limits can be increased or reduced at any time through the Play Limits & Controls section of their account. Reductions take effect immediately, while increases take effect after approximately 24 hours.
- Customers may temporarily pause their account for 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months using the Play Limits & Controls section. Once a pause has been confirmed, it cannot be removed early.
- Customers may also request permanent closure of their account through the Play Limits & Controls section. Account closure requests are reviewed manually before being processed and remain subject to these Terms & Conditions.
- We reserve the right to refuse transactions, restrict accounts, reduce spending limits, pause accounts or permanently close accounts where we reasonably believe this is necessary to promote responsible play, protect customers or safeguard the integrity of our competitions.
- If you feel that your participation is becoming difficult to control, we encourage you to stop entering competitions immediately and seek support. Information about responsible play and organisations such as GamCare can be found on our Responsible Playing page.
- We may review and update our responsible playing measures from time to time to reflect changes in legislation, guidance or best practice.
Privacy & Data
Essential Comps collects and processes personal information in order to operate competitions, administer customer accounts, verify winners, process payments, deliver prizes and comply with legal and regulatory obligations. Full details of how we collect, use and protect your personal information can be found in our Privacy Policy.
- By creating an account and entering competitions, you consent to your personal information being processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- We use personal information to administer competitions, verify eligibility, prevent fraud, process payments, communicate with customers, deliver prizes and comply with legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.
- Where necessary, we may share relevant personal information with trusted third parties including payment providers, couriers, wholesalers, prize suppliers, professional advisers and service providers where this is required to administer your account, deliver prizes or operate our competitions.
- Marketing communications will only be sent where you have chosen to receive them. You may update your marketing preferences or unsubscribe at any time through your account or by following the unsubscribe link included in our emails.
- By entering a competition, you acknowledge that if you win, we may publish your first name, surname and winning ticket number on our website, social media channels or during our live draw broadcasts in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
- If you request closure of your account, we will delete or anonymise personal information where appropriate. However, we may retain information where required to comply with legal, regulatory, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution or other legitimate business obligations.
- Identity verification documents and other verification information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to verify prize claims, prevent fraud, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations, after which they will be securely deleted.

General Terms
The following general terms apply to all competitions, promotions and services operated by Essential Comps unless specifically stated otherwise.
- Essential Comps reserves the right to correct any genuine error, omission or technical mistake relating to a competition, prize, ticket allocation, pricing, website content or promotional material. Where a significant error has materially affected customers or the fairness of a competition, we may, at our discretion, amend the competition, cancel affected purchases or issue refunds where appropriate.
- If circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent a competition or draw from being completed as planned, including technical failures, supplier issues, payment provider failures, internet outages, cyber incidents, industrial action, severe weather or other unforeseen events, Essential Comps reserves the right to postpone the draw until it can be completed fairly. Every competition remains guaranteed to be drawn unless cancellation is absolutely necessary.
- If Essential Comps is required to cancel a competition before a winner has been selected, all valid paid entries will normally be refunded to the original payment method. Where entries were purchased using Essential Points, those points will normally be returned to the customer’s account.
- Any attempt to manipulate, interfere with or gain an unfair advantage in any competition, promotion or feature operated by Essential Comps is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of automated software, bots, scripts, duplicate accounts, fraudulent activity, payment abuse, chargebacks or the exploitation of technical issues. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently close accounts, cancel entries, withhold or recover prizes where legally permitted, remove Essential Points, referral rewards and promotional rewards, refuse refunds and take reasonable steps to recover any losses incurred where permitted by law.
- Submitting a fraudulent or unjustified chargeback, payment dispute or payment reversal is considered abuse of our services. Essential Comps reserves the right to suspend or permanently close the associated account, cancel any entries, withhold or recover prizes where legally permitted, remove Essential Points, referral rewards and promotional rewards, refuse future participation and take reasonable steps to recover any monies, prizes or losses incurred where permitted by law.
- Abusive, threatening or inappropriate behaviour towards Essential Comps, its employees, suppliers or representatives may result in the immediate suspension or permanent closure of an account without prior notice.
- All website content, branding, logos, graphics, competition materials and other intellectual property remain the property of Essential Comps unless otherwise stated and may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or used without our prior written permission.
- If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
- These Terms & Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
- Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any statutory rights available to consumers under applicable law.
- Essential Comps reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any updated version will be published on our website and will take effect from the date shown as the Last Updated date unless otherwise stated.
Changes to these Terms
Essential Comps may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to our competitions, services, website features, legal obligations or business operations.
- The most current version of these Terms & Conditions will always be available on the Essential Comps website.
- Any changes will take effect from the Last Updated date shown at the top of these Terms & Conditions unless otherwise stated.
- By continuing to use the Essential Comps website or entering competitions after updated Terms & Conditions have come into effect, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms & Conditions.
- Where we consider a change to be significant, we may notify customers through our website, by email or by other appropriate means; however, it remains your responsibility to review these Terms & Conditions periodically.
- These Terms & Conditions apply alongside our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Responsible Playing Policy and any competition-specific rules published on the relevant competition or promotional page. Where competition-specific rules differ from these Terms & Conditions, the competition-specific rules will take precedence for that competition.

We aim to respond to all enquiries as quickly as possible. Response times may vary depending on the nature of your enquiry, weekends, bank holidays and periods of high demand.
