Free Postal Entry

You can enter every Essential Comps competition for free by post. You don’t need to buy anything, and a postal entry has exactly the same chance of winning as a paid entry.

How to enter

Send one correctly stamped postcard or envelope per entry to:

Include

  • Full name
  • Full postal address
  • Email address
  • Mobile/phone number
  • The name of the competition you are entering, exactly as shown on its competition page

These details must match your Essential Comps account.

Good to know

  • You need an Essential Comps account, and must be 18 or over and a UK resident.
  • Entries must arrive by 12:00 midday (UK time) on the day before the competition closes.
  • One entry per postcard or envelope. Multiple entries sent together, bulk entries and hand-delivered entries are not accepted.
  • Postal entries count towards the same maximum per person as paid entries.
  • Entries must be clearly written and complete. Incomplete, illegible or late entries will not be entered, and we do not notify rejected entries.
  • Entries are processed by hand. Once your entry has been processed, your ticket number appears in My Competitions in your account.
  • A postal entry has exactly the same chance of winning as a paid entry.

After you post your entry

  • We open and check every postal entry by hand, before the competition closes. If it meets the rules, we add it to the competition and allocate a ticket number, chosen at random in exactly the same way as for paid entries. No postal entry is added after the competition has closed.
  • Your ticket number then appears in My Competitions in your account.
  • We don’t hold tickets for postal entries waiting to be processed. If the competition sells out before your entry is processed, or you have already reached the maximum entries per person, your entry cannot be added.
  • Postage is your cost, and we can’t accept responsibility for post that is lost, delayed or arrives after the deadline.
